February GARA Meeting: All About CW
First of all, I’d like to give a big shout out to David McLin for his work on Winter Field Day preparations and sharing the information with us last month. I believe this was a big reason why we had such a great success this year with Winter Field Day, and I for one am already looking forward to future events coming up this year.
This month I will be presenting on CW from the perspective of a newer ham, but also from the perspective of why CW is still relevant and how and why we should all be striving to learn it and utilize it’s potential. I will be discussing the Who, What, When, Why, Where and How of CW, and also sharing some tips and tricks that I have begun to learn in my short journey with CW. As part of my topic, we will also be discussing some different options on how to learn and practice together, and if anyone has any stories or other tips and tricks they would like to share from their past experiences with CW, we would love to hear from you as well.
Along those lines, there have been several who have continued to express interest in learning CW within the group, so please let me know if you are also interested in learning, or helping teach or practice with others.
As always, if there are other topics you would be interested in learning about, or sharing with the group, please let me know.
Thanks and 73,
Steve Brannan

I need to get serious about club participation again. How do I use Google Meet to join a meeting? I have never used Google Meet.

Hey Craig- sorry for the late reply! You can go to the meeting news article and simply click on the “Google Meet” button and it will connect you. Once you connect, one of the board members will need to admit you to the meeting, but that should happen quickly (no, you don’t need to be a member to join our meetings virtually!). Most of the time you’ll probably just watch and listen, but if you want to interact, you’ll need a microphone so that we can hear you. Shoot me an email if you have any problems. Hope to see you soon!
