Tim Duffy, K3LR, COO of DX Engineering and owner of one of the most prestigious amateur radio stations in the United States will visit with GARA via Skype at our next meeting on Monday, March 28. Tim will talk about his history, how and why he put together one of the most impressive stations in America, and answer questions from you! N4G is a Success!
N4G, GARA's annual special event station commemorating the anniversary of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse, was a resounding success this year. The success began with the organization of the event by David Macchiarolo, AJ4TF, who applied for the permits, found the equipment, lead setup, and spearheaded efforts to make the more than 1,130 contacts on both HF and VHF/D-star. That's an N4G record! A lot of GARA club members came out to support the special event station, making contacts on 80m, 40m, 20m and 15m, and in multiple modes including SSB, FM, D-star, CW, PSK31 and JT65! 2016 N4G is Here!
N4G, GARA's annual special event station commemorating the Battle of Guilford Courthouse in the American Revolutionary War, is ready for action. If you're not already involved, it's not too late. N4G organizers and volunteers will be at Tannenbaum Park at the corner of Battleground Avenue and New Garden Road starting at 1:00pm on Friday, March 11 to setup the station, and then again beginning at 9:00am on Saturday, March 12 and running continuously until the afternoon of Sunday, March 13.
